எல்லா கட்டளைகளும் ஏக இறைவனால் தரப்பட்டது.
கட்டளைகளை பெற மோசே 40 நாட்கள் இறை சமூகத்திற்கு இறைவனால் அழைக்கப்பட்ட இடம் இஸ்ராயேல் தேசத்திலுள்ளது.
இஸ்ரயேல் சமுதாயம் இற்றை வரைக்கும் கடைபிடிக்க வேண்டிய ஆட்சிப் புத்தகம் வேதாகமத்தில் காணப்படும் முதல் 5 புத்தகங்களாகும்.
5 புத்தகங்கள் வெறுமனே புனிதமானவை மட்டுமல்ல. அவை அதிகாரத்திற்கும் ஆட்சிக்கும் உட்பட்ட பல்லாண்டுகட்கு முன் ஏக இறைவன் அருளிய சட்டதிட்டங்களாகும்.
இவற்றை விட ஏக இறைவன் வேறு புத்தகங்களை கட்டளைப் பாணியில் வேறெங்கும் அருளவில்லை. தோரா எனப்படும் வேதாகமத்தின் முதல் 5 நூல்களை யாராலும் அற்பமாக கருத முடியாது.

බයිබලයේ මුල් පොත් පහ මේ වන තුරු ඊශ්රායල ප්රජාව නිරීක්ෂණය කිරීම, යෙසායා පොත ය. 
5 පොත් හුදෙක් පූජනීය නොවේ. ඔවුන් බලය හා අධිකාරිත්වය දශක පෙර සමිඳාණන් වහන්සේගේ නීති ඇත. 
වඩා වෙනත්, දෙවියන් වහන්සේ අණ වෙනත් ඕනෑම පොත් ලබා දීලා නෑ. බයිබලයේ මුල් පොත් 5 කිසිවක්, තව්රාත් ලෙස හැඳින්වෙන මෝඩ ලෙස සැලකිය නොහැකිය.
